We're less than a month away from the start of the regular season in the NBA. One of the top contenders heading into the fall are the Lakers because of their new duo of LeBron James and Anthony Davis.

James missed significant time last season with a groin injury. His return to the hardwood wasn't enough to lift Los Angeles into the playoffs.

In order to capitalize on their championship window with James at the helm, the Lakers made a blockbuster deal to acquire Davis from the New Orleans Pelicans.

On paper, the Lakers have one of the best rosters in the league. It's yet to be seen how they'll perform together on the court.

While most of the pressure falls on the shoulders of LeBron James, the three-time champion has another superstar to share the burden with him.

The four-time MVP sent a message to Davis on Instagram in preparation for the new season, saying "And so today the journey begins my brother! Starts and ends with us. Let’s get it!"

Here is the post that James shared on Instagram:

Fans won't have to wait much longer to watch James and Davis in action.

The Lakers open the regular season with an epic showdown against the Clippers on Oct. 22 at the Staples Center.
