LiAngelo Ball NBA update: the middle Ball brother has drawn some attention from teams. LiAngelo is not thought to be a prospect at the level of his older brother Lonzo, or even his younger brother LaMelo. However, he is getting some looks.
Ball is coming off of a real whirlwind year. He was set to be a freshman at UCLA, following in his brother's footsteps. Father LaVar Ball said that his plan was to have all three sons play one season for the Bruins before going to the NBA to play for the Lakers.
UCLA began its season in China. That wound up being the beginning of the end for Ball's Bruins career.
He was one of three Bruins arrested for shoplifting from a store in China. The whole ordeal became a bit of an international incident, and he was suspended indefinitely, before being pulled out of school by LaVar.
He and LaMelo then played overseas for Lithuanian team BC Vytautas for most of the season, but LaVar pulled his two sons in late April, with just two games left in the season and relegation on the line. Now, LiAngelo Ball is working in anticipation of the NBA Draft.
There are serious doubts about LiAngelo Ball's NBA Draft potential.
There doesn't seem to be a very realistic chance of him being selected in the two round of the draft. However, he isn't being totally ignored by teams.
Ball revealed that he has interviewed with two teams at the combine. He also has three workouts set up, which includes one with the Lakers.
While in Lithuania, Ball played in 14 games, starting six, according to RealGM. He scored 12.6 points per game, shooting over 41-percent from three point range.
Perhaps a team will bring him in for a summer league look. However, the Draft still seems like a long shot.
