The Los Angeles Lakers have really struggled while LeBron James has sat out due to injury. Tonight, things took a turn for the worst when Lonzo Ball left the game with what appeared to be an ankle injury.
Ball, the No. 2 pick of the 2017 Draft, has had an up-and-down first season and a half in the pros, but was having a very strong night against the Houston Rockets.
At the time of his departure, the Lakers led by 15 points.
That margin matched his +15 mark, which led the team.
Ball also scored eight points and led the Lakers with 11 assists in 22 minutes.
With Ball out, the Rockets surged back, and wound up winning the game 138-134 in overtime behind yet another incredible performance by James Harden.
The reigning MVP went for 48 points, eight rebounds, six assists, and four steals.
There is some good news on the Lonzo Ball ankle injury front.
The Lakers announced that x-rays for fractures were negative.

The Lakers have been treading water without LeBron, and things won't get better if Ball has to miss time. Now the team that occupied the eight-seed in the West entering today, runs the risk of falling out of the playoff race.
