While discussing the current landscape of the NBA, Smith made a strong argument for the Warriors being the favorites in the Western Conference. In fact, he’s so confident in the Warriors that he doesn’t believe a healthy Lakers team can take them down.
“Obviously, things can change because you can go out there and acquire somebody different,” Smith said. “I’m saying as presently constructed with Anthony Davis, Russell Westbrook and LeBron James completely healthy, [the Lakers] still ain’t beating the Warriors.”
Then, Smith took things one step further and said James’ days of winning NBA titles are over.
“I believe this is the last championship LeBron James is going to win, meaning it’s over,” Smith declared on First Take. “There aren’t any more championships coming.”

The reason Smith doesn’t think James will add another championship ring to his résumé is because he thinks the Warriors are building yet another dynasty.
For years, NBA analysts have been trying to predict when James will officially decline and no longer be considered a game-changing superstar. The Lakers might not look like a championship team at the moment, but it would be foolish to count out James this early in the season.
