The Los Angeles Lakers and Los Angeles Clippers are battling today for the third time this season. It is widely-anticipated that they will meet in the Western Conference Finals in May.
When you get two teams loaded with talent and competitiveness and stick them in the same city, they’re bound to butt heads. We’re seeing some of that today.
LeBron James and Clippers guard Patrick Beverley got into it a bit after bumping into each other after the whistle. Beverley, never one to back down from anyone, swiped the ball out of James’ hands.
The King responded with a forearm to Beverley’s chest. Nothing big happened, but it was an example of the chippiness we could see if and when these two teams meet in the playoffs.

The Clippers beat the Lakers in the first two meetings between the teams, including a back-and-forth affair on Christmas.
Right now, the Lakers lead their unfriendly tenants by nine with four minutes remaining in the fourth quarter.
