The sweepstakes for Anthony Davis are officially underway, as the Los Angeles Lakers are in pursuit of the All-Star forward.

Los Angeles couldn't land Davis before the trade deadline, but it sounds like things could change this time around. ESPN insider Adrian Wojnarowski is reporting that the Lakers and the Celtics have engaged in trade talks with the Pelicans.

While the Pelicans might not want to send Davis to the Lakers, it appears the illustrious franchise has quite the offer on the table.

According to NBA insider Marc Stein, the Lakers have made Brandon Ingram, Lonzo Ball and the No. 4 overall pick available in trade discussions.

New Orleans would have the chance to select Zion Williamson and another top prospect in the upcoming NBA Draft.

Even though it's an intriguing list of assets offered by Los Angeles, it might take time for New Orleans to find a deal it feels comfortable with. After all, Davis has been the face of the franchise for years.

The Lakers have liked their young core for the past few seasons, but acquiring Davis would give LeBron James a worthy co-star in Hollywood. Los Angeles is reportedly not interested in giving up Kyle Kuzma, though New Orleans wants him.
