Longtime NBA big man Marc Gasol has reportedly made a decision on his professional basketball career.
Gasol, 35, has played in the NBA since 2008. He began his career with the Memphis Grizzlies before winning a championship with the Toronto Raptors. Gasol, a 6-foot-11 big man, has played for the Eastern Conference contenders for the past two seasons.
On Wednesday, a report surfaced claiming the three-time NBA All-Star big man is heading home. Gasol, a native of Spain, is reportedly signing with a team in his home country.
Legendary NBA center Marc Gasol will reportedly be going home to Spain and signing with FCB Barcelona next season, according to Spanish journalist Sergi Carmona. If the rumor is true, it would mark the end of his tenure as a Toronto Raptor, as well as his illustrious NBA career.
However, there are conflicting reports on the decision.
Barcelona's head coach says the team has not finalized anything with Gasol.
“We have not talked to Marc Gasol. The important thing now is not to rush. If we have a real chance, we will go for it," he said.
It wouldn't be surprising to see Gasol playing in Spain after a lengthy NBA career, but clearly nothing has been finalized yet.
