Memphis Grizzlies superstar Ja Morant had a game for the ages in their thrilling 111-109 win over the Minnesota Timberwolves to take a 3-2 series lead last night. But his poster moment came in the waning seconds of the third quarter, and broadcaster Ian Eagle made it all the more memorable.
With 10 seconds left in the third and Memphis trailing by 13, Morant dribbled up the center of the court and dunked right over the guard. The entire arena collectively went "Oh my god," but Eagle summed it up the best.
"A Ja-breaker!" Eagle exclaimed as the crowd went wild. The Grizzlies went into final period with a double-digit deficit, but the momentum would stay with them in the fourth.
Memphis outscored Minnesota 37-24 in the fourth quarter. They went on to win at the buzzer.
Speaking of buzzing, NBA fans couldn't stop talking about how amazing Ja Morant's big dunk was. Or Ian Eagle's call of it:
Ja Morant hasn't had to do everything for the Grizzlies the way he did in their playoff series against the Utah Jazz last year. But he's still putting on a show, averaging over 20 points and 10 rebounds a game.
The Grizzlies are now just one win away from their first playoff series win since 2015.
Can Morant get the Grizzlies over the hump and get that series win in Game 6?
Game 6 will be this Friday at the Target Center.
