The last few days have been a whirlwind for Miami Heat star Derrick Jones Jr. On Saturday, he narrowly beat Aaron Gordon to win his first-ever Slam Dunk Contest. In the wake of that huge win, Jones has just received another boon: An endorsement from one of the biggest apparel companies in the world.

According to ESPN's Nick DePaula, Jones just signed a multi-year shoe deal with PUMA Basketball. Jones wore custom PUMA sneakers during his run in the Dunk Contest, pairing them with the Miami Heat's "Vice Nights" jersey.

Per the report, PUMA offered Jones the deal shortly after he claimed victory in the Dunk Contest. All of that happened on his 23rd birthday.

But Jones' offer from PUMA didn't come right out of the blue. DePaula reported that PUMA has been sending Jones some of their apparel and products in recent months as they worked out a deal.

Now that he's a Slam Dunk Contest champion and in possession of his own shoe deal, Jones has big plans for the future.

Jones has already announced his intentions to attend next year's Dunk Contest to defend his title.

Via ESPN:

"As a kid, I told my father I was going to win one, and I got it," he said. "So I'm going to go get another one next year."

Will Jones win the Dunk Contest if he enters next season?
