The NBA has a new big-three on its hands. Kyle Lowry is heading to South Beach.
Just moments after free agency began on Monday, Lowry’s decision was announced. The veteran point guard has signed with the Miami Heat.
Lowry joins a Miami team just a season removed from making a run to the NBA Finals. He’ll man the point guard position in a talented lineup full of shooters and star players like Jimmy Butler and Bam Adebayo. It’s time to take the Heat seriously, once again.
Lowry had a pretty awesome reaction to his new deal with the Heat. Take a look.

Kyle Lowry is 35 and will turn 36 next season, but age hasn’t bogged down the veteran point guard just yet.
Lowry scored 17.2 points, dished out 7.3 assists and grabbed 5.4 rebounds per game last season with the Raptors. He was one of the best true point guards in the NBA. Miami should benefit greatly from Lowry’s game.
The Heat are still capable of being a championship contender, especially with the Lowry signing. Bam Adebayo is one of the best bigs in the game and Jimmy Butler is a top-20 player when he’s committed. A big key for the Heat next season is getting better play from youngsters Duncan Robinson and Tyler Herro.
If the Heat play like they did two seasons ago and Lowry remains productive, they could be one of the top seeds in the Eastern Conference next season.
