The sports world is mourning today.

Legendary sports reporter Craig Sager passed away today following a long battle with cancer. He was 65.

All across the NBA, media and sports world, people are paying tribute. It's basically impossible to be universally liked, but Sager was. Everyone loved him, especially those who came to know him.

One of those people who came to know him was ESPN's Michelle Beadle, who interviewed him at The ESPYs earlier this year, before Sager was presented with the Jimmy V Perseverance Award. Beadle said she really came to know him during the London Olympics in 2012.

ESPN's SportsNation, hosted by Beadle, paid tribute to Sager at the beginning of today's show. Beadle teared up while remembering him, barely able to get any words out, saying he's one of the best people she's ever known.

Here's video of her and SportsNation's tribute.

Well done, Michelle.

And rest in peace, Craig.
