One of the NBA's emerging stars has suffered a torn hamstring.

Khris Middleton, a 25-year-old forward for the Milwaukee Bucks, has suffered a torn hamstring, according to a report by Yahoo! Sports' The Vertical.

Middleton, a former Texas A&M standout, has been one of the most-underrated players (by the public, anyway) in the league in recent seasons.

The 6-foot-8, 234-pound sharpshooter averaged 18.2 points, 4.2 rebounds and 3.8 assists per game for the Bucks in 2015-16.

Middleton, a second-round pick in the 2012 NBA Draft by Detroit has significantly improved his game every season. His scoring averages have increased from 6.1 points his rookie year to 12.1 points his second season to 13.4 points his third year to 18.2 points this past season.

The Charleston, South Carolina native has become one of the league's best shooters, too, with a career 3-point percentage of .400.

Middleton is expected to miss an extended period of time with his hamstring injury.
