The deal involving Rodriguez and the Timberwolves was in jeopardy a few weeks ago when Meyer Orbach, the second-largest shareholder in the Timberwolves, filed a complaint in the U.S. District Court alleging that Glen Taylor’s pending sale is in violation of the franchise’s partnership agreement.
Orbach filed this complaint in large part because Taylor, the current owner of the Timberwolves, didn’t include a clause in the sale that requires Rodriguez and Lore to keep the team in Minnesota. Fortunately, it sounds like T-Wolves fans have nothing to worry about.
A Timberwolves fan commented “Keep the wolves in Minnesota” on Rodriguez’s latest Instagram post. Though he didn’t have to, Rodriguez actually responded to that comment, saying “We will.”
In other words, Rodriguez confirmed that he will keep the Timberwolves in Minnesota if he officially becomes an owner of the team.

This is great news for Minnesota fans, especially since there were rumors that A-Rod wants to move the franchise to Seattle.
Rodriguez and Lore cannot receive final approval for this sale of the Timberwolves until the NBA’s board of governors vote on it.
