The NBA has announced the punishment for Philadelphia 76ers big man Joel Embiid for his post-game comments after the loss to the Boston Celtics on Tuesday night. Embiid's bank account has taken a hit.

Embiid was harshly critical of the officiating during the Sixers' loss to the Celtics on Tuesday night. The All-Star big man ended his press conference with a NSFW quote.

"The referees f---ing suck," he said.

Unsurprisingly, that comment is not sitting well with the NBA.

The NBA is fining Embiid for his postgame comments.

"76ers star Joel Embiid has been fined $25,000 for publicly criticizing officials Tuesday night."

Embiid struggled against Boston Celtics big man Al Horford and it wasn't the first time the Sixers have had a disappointing performance against their Eastern Conference rivals.

Sixers head coach Brett Brown isn't worried, though.

"We've got a whole new team. We've been with each other for a minute. I don't even think about that at all. ... I'm excited to play these guys," he said.

The Sixers have made several big moves this season, trading for Jimmy Butler and Tobias Harris, but the team will need to win multiple playoff series - at least - to have a satisfying season.
