On Tuesday night, the Los Angeles Lakers routed the defending champion Golden State Warriors by a final score of 127-101. The win, however, came at a cost.
Lakers star LeBron James left the contest with a groin strain and appeared to be in significant pain as he left the floor. Lakers head coach Luke Walton confirmed LeBron left with a left groin strain.
The NBA’s best player underwent an MRI on Wednesday morning. According to Shams Charania of Stadium and the Athletic, the MRI returned clean and LeBron is expected to be “day-to-day” following the injury.

This is obviously the best-case scenario for the Lakers, who played well in LeBron’s absence. The team may have won against the Warriors without LeBron, but they won’t get far without a healthy LeBron James.
Next up for the Lakers is a contest against the Sacramento Kings on Thursday. The Lakers and Kings are scheduled for a 10:00 p.m. ET tip.
