The Philadelphia 76ers are comfortably ahead in the NBA playoff race, and point guard Ben Simmons has been a big part of that.

But Simmons has come under fire following his performance in Tuesday's 121-114 loss to the Boston Celtics and one NBA insider has an idea of why Simmons struggled in the game.

On Wednesday's edition of First Things First, NBA insider Chris Broussard revealed per his sources that Simmons has not been working on his jump shot.

"I'm being told that Ben Simmons hasn't worked on it," Brousard said, referring to Simmons' jump shot.

Simmons noticeably struggled with the jump shot in the loss to Boston. He's yet to develop any kind of consistent shot from outside the pain. He has only made a handful of shots from outside the restricted area, and has never even attempted a shot from beyond the three-point line.

A 22-foot jumper he made in the middle of the fourth quarter was revealed to be the longest of his young NBA career.

Simmons finished the game with a double-double that included 11 points, 14 rebounds, and eight assists.
