Not even the start of the NBA Finals could silence the rumors swirling about free agency. While the spotlight will eventually shift in the direction of Kevin Durant, the current star in the headlines is Kyrie Irving.

When it comes to being a top scorer, Irving is the perfect option for teams in need of an elite option to lead their offense. On the flip side, the stories that came out during his time in Boston are slightly concerning.

Irving was thought of as the player that would take the Celtics to the next level. Falling short in the Eastern Conference Semifinals definitely wasn't part of his plans.

Although the Celtics could make an appealing offer to Irving, NBA insider Ric Bucher is reporting that his decision is believed to be down to the Los Angeles Lakers and Brooklyn Nets.

Bucher is reporting that Kobe Bryant is trying to recruit Irving to join the Lakers, as well.

Los Angeles is in desperate need of a co-star for LeBron James, which makes Irving an ideal player to target. Pairing the former teammates together might be the move that saves the franchise from another disappointing season.

Brooklyn, on the other hand, provides Irving the chance to be the leader of the franchise. The Nets are coming off an impressive season that featured a postseason berth.

In addition to his report about Bryant, Bucher is also saying that Irving purchased a home in South Orange, New Jersey. This will most likely lead to speculation of him buying a place close to his future team.
