The hype surrounding Zion Williams has died down in the off-season. With the NFL season in full swing, the NBA has taken a backseat in the minds of fans around the country.
Williamson is here to change that.
As the 2019-20 NBA season approaches, the New Orleans Pelicans star took to Twitter on Thursday afternoon to announce a major endorsement deal.
The former Duke star signed a multi-year deal with Gatorade.
According to Andrew Lopez, it's the fourth endorsement deal Williamson has signed since being drafted. He also inked deals with Jordan, Panini and NBA 2K.
Williamson entered the 2018-19 collegiate basketball season as a top prospect for the pros, but was behind RJ Barrett, who was at the top of the list. After dominating his opponents, Williamson launched himself to the top where the Pelicans were waiting.
New Orleans shipped star big man Anthony Davis to the Los Angeles Lakers, which automatically made Zion the big man on campus. Zion is the favorite to win Rookie of the Year.
All eyes will be on Williamson and the Pelicans to see how they bounce back this season.
