NBA free agency is set to "officially" open in a few hours, but things are already at a fever pitch. Star guard Jimmy Butler is one of the players being carefully monitored.

Butler played most of last season with the Philadelphia 76ers after being traded from the Minnesota Timberwolves. He is set to become an unrestricted free agent.

Besides Philly, the Houston Rockets and Miami Heat have been mentioned as potential suitors, though they would have to use a sign-and-trade to acquire him. ESPN's Adrian Wojnarowski reported that Butler is supposed to meet with the Heat tonight.

Butler himself isn't slowing down the rumors of him going to Miami. Just consider his response to Chad Johnson on Twitter. Johnson requested a 1-on-1 game with Butler since he's in Miami, and the 29-year-old shooting guard said he'd oblige "after I get a contract done."

Is Butler serious? Or is he just having some fun with his followers, given how rumors and speculation run rampant in the NBA this time of the year?

Stay tuned and find out.
