Lonzo Ball is one of the biggest names on the trading block prior to this week's trade deadline. If the New Orleans Pelicans move on from their young point guard, NBA legend Magic Johnson believes there's one team that should go all in to land him.

During an appearance on ESPN's First Take, Johnson made an argument for the New York Knicks acquiring Ball prior to the deadline.

"Julius Randle has been dominant and they have some young guys that can get up and down the court," Johnson said. "The problem is you don't have a point guard who can create shots for the other guys. That's what Lonzo does the best - he'll speed up the game. You know what the Knicks' problem is? They don't get easy baskets, everything is a half-court grind."

Johnson said that Ball would help the Knicks score in transition, something that's not easy to do during the postseason.

The Knicks have been surprisingly good this season, owning a 21-22 record.

At this stage in the regular season, Randle is leading the team in assists per game. While that's certainly a testament to his versatility and playmaking abilities, New York could use another facilitator on its roster.

Ball has always shown excellent court vision, averaging 6.4 assists over the course of his NBA career. He'd be a fine addition to the Knicks and add a new element to their offense.

We've already seen Ball play in a large market in Los Angeles. Even though New York is a different animal, the bright lights shouldn't bother the UCLA product if he's traded there.
