Could Melo move to Philadelphia or Washington?
It's no secret the New York Knicks and Carmelo Anthony don't get along.
Namely, their differences stem from Phil Jackson and the front office.
After failing to trade Melo last season, the Knicks could be stuck owing $54 million to Melo over the next two seasons. Or they could trade him.
According to Frank Isola, Anthony was toying with the idea of a trade to the Philadelphia 76ers or Washington Wizards. He reportedly wants to stay in the New York area to be close to his son.
From the report:
Anthony, according to the same source, was toying with the idea of orchestrating a move to either Philadelphia or Washington, which would keep him close to New York. However, Anthony’s mindset now is to stay in New York and play for the Knicks . . . even though Jackson doesn’t want him.
We'll have to wait and see how the Melo-Knicks drama works out heading into free agency. Anthony has a no-trade clause written into his contract, so he must "okay" any move before it happens.
