With Paul George now a member of the Los Angeles Clippers, it appears Russell Westbrook’s days as a member of the Oklahoma City Thunder are numbered. At this point it seems very likely that he’ll be on the move.
Oklahoma City is preparing for a massive rebuild, which makes sense after it acquired a plethora of picks from Los Angeles.
It’s unfortunate to see Westbrook’s time with the Thunder reach its final stages, but a potential trade involving the All-Star guard should provide quite the story for the NBA.
Several teams have shown interest in Westbrook, and the current favorite to land him is Miami.
The Heat would pair Westbrook with Jimmy Butler, who they acquired in a sign-and-trade with the Sixers.
Miami has movable contracts to give to OKC in Justise Winslow and Goran Dragic, as well as young assets in Tyler Herro and Bam Adebayo.
Current betting odds have the Heat as the overwhelming favorites to trade for Westbrook before the start of the season.

Following the Heat in the betting odds for Westbrook are the Knicks, Pistons and Thunder. It’d be shocking if Oklahoma City retains its face of the franchise due to all the noise surrounding a blockbuster trade.
Westbrook’s future in Oklahoma City should be the biggest storyline to follow the rest of this offseason, as all the top free agents have already signed.
