During the 2013 NBA Draft, the Memphis Grizzlies selected Janis Timma with the 60th overall pick. Two years later, his draft rights were traded to the Orlando Magic in exchange for Luke Ridnour.
Although he was drafted in 2013, Timma spent the past several years playing basketball overseas. His overseas career has been very successful up to this point, adding Baltic League champion, two-time Latvian League champion and four-time Latvian All-Star to his résumé.
While there’s no denying that Timma is a star overseas, it appears he wants to challenge himself and see what the NBA has in store for him.
On Monday night, Timma made his NBA Summer League debut. He suited up for the Magic’s matchup with the Golden State Warriors.

Unfortunately for Timma, he couldn’t prevent NBA fans from making jokes about his hairstyle for his Summer League debut.
Several fans compared Timma to Eminem, while others said he looks like a “created player” from NBA 2K.

Regardless of what fans said about Timma’s appearance, the reality is his basketball journey has been very inspiring.
Timma should be back in action on Wednesday for the Magic’s showdown with the Cleveland Cavaliers.
