When Paul George demanded a trade out of Oklahoma City, it didn’t set well with many fans. Fortunately for the All-Star forward, he didn’t receive the same reaction from Russell Westbrook.
George’s decision to request a trade from the Thunder was arguably the biggest surprise of the offseason. Once he got to the Los Angeles Clippers, he formed a dynamic duo with Kawhi Leonard.
The Clippers introduced their offseason acquisitions on Wednesday to a packed crowd in Los Angeles.
Not only did the Clippers introduce their stars this week, but ESPN’s Rachel Nichols released an exclusive interview with George and Leonard.
During the interview, George revealed how Westbrook reacted to his trade request.
“He was happy, he understood. He was all for it,” George told Nichols. “We talked as men and again, he was happy for me and he wanted me to do what was best for me and my career.”
Paul told me his conversation with Russ about all this "was easy, same conversation me and Russ always have. He was happy, he understood. He was all for it. We talked as men and again, he was happy for me and he wanted me to do what was best for me and my career."

Shortly after George departed from Oklahoma City, Westbrook was shipped to Houston in a blockbuster deal involving Chris Paul.
It doesn’t appear that either superstar is holding a grudge toward each other. Besides, George and Westbrook are now playing for two of the top contenders in the Western Conference.
