If there is one thing that plenty of NBA fans are sensitive about these days, it is tampering or the possibility of tampering. In this age of player movement and stars teaming up, it is a much bigger story line than it has been in the past.
That’s why a lot of Philadelphia 76ers fans are reacting so strongly and negatively to Magic Johnson’s quote about Philly’s young star Ben Simmons. Johnson revealed to the New York Times‘ Marc Stein that Simmons wants to meet with him this summer.
The reason? To exchange tricks of the trade about being a big point guard in the NBA.
Johnson said he’s looking for the approval of the Sixers and the NBA before he talks shop with Simmons.
Speaking pre-game in Philly, Magic Johnson reveals that Ben Simmons wants to sit down with him this summer to trade some "big guard" secrets if the Sixers, Lakers and the league office all sign off

Johnson’s comments seem innocent enough, but again, in the current climate of the NBA, they’re bound to draw some raised eyebrows.
Johnson’s Lakers are set to take on Simmons and the Sixers shortly in Philadelphia. Los Angeles is coming off a buzzer-beating win over the Boston Celtics on Thursday.
Tip-off for Lakers-Sixers is set for 3:30 p.m. ET on ABC.
