Scott Foster and the rest of the officiating crew went to the replay monitor five times during the last 90 seconds of the game. Believe it or not, the last 90 seconds of Game 2 took 33 minutes in real time.
Plenty of NBA fans pointed out that the officiating crew sucked the life out of Game 2, which is somewhat true since there was no real flow to the game.
"The last 90 seconds of NBA basketball just takes way to long," Gronkowski tweeted. "Needs to change. It blows. The groove of the game gets lost with only 10 seconds passing on the clock lol."
Kevin O'Connor of The Ringer had a similar take on this issue. He suggested that the NBA should hire more people to figure out how they can speed up their review process.
"Adam Silver gotta do something about these reviews," O'Connor wrote. "Hire however many people it takes to make the process go quicker. Casual NBA fans just tune out. To make them hardcore fans, there can't be these long reviews. And stop rewarding players who flop and whine. Ruins the product."
Game 3 between the Clippers and Suns is set for Thursday night on ESPN. Hopefully, the officiating crew doesn't steal the spotlight again.
