It has been a rough season in LA for Russell Westbrook, but fellow star Damian Lillard wants people to give the Lakers guard the respect he deserves.

On a recent appearance on Shannon Sharpe's "Club Shay Shay Podcast," Lillard argued that Westbrook's legacy in tje NBA should be safe and secure despite his struggles this year.

"Russell Westbrook's career and legacy is undeniable. That's just the bottom line," Lillard said.

Sharpe's full interview with Lillard can be seen below.

In 73 games this season, Westbrook is averaging only 18.2 points per game, his lowest scoring output since the 2009-10 campaign. The nine-time All-Star has also shot poorly from the field and free-throw line.

At different points during the year, Westbrook has been booed relentlessly by fans and also benched by head coach Frank Vogel. The 33-year-old playmaker also said his family has been the subject of taunts and death threats because of his play.
