For the first time in nearly two decades the Portland Trail Blazers are back in the NBA Western Conference Finals. Their return is thanks in no small part to star guard CJ McCollum, who will get a chance to rub it in the face of Golden State Warriors star Kevin Durant.

Last year, Durant appeared on McCollum's Pull Up podcast and laughed at the idea of the Trail Blazers winning a championship.

Fast-forward a year later and McCollum is now all that stands between the Warriors and a fifth-straight trip to the NBA Finals.

McCollum was dominant in Game 7 of the Western Conference Semifinals against the Denver Nuggets. He went 17 of 29 for 37 points and nine rebounds.

Following his performance in the game, the conversations between the two on the podcast as well as on Twitter have gone viral.

The two teams met four times in the NBA regular season, splitting the series 2-2.

In 2017, Durant's first year with the team, he led the Warriors to a 4-0 sweep of the Trail Blazers in the First Round of the NBA Playoffs.

The year before, the Warriors beat the Trail Blazers in five games to win the Western Conference Semifinals.

And now the stakes are higher than ever before.
