According to Jason Dumas of Bleacher Report, Simmons’ relationship with the Sixers is “beyond repair.” But Simmons doesn’t want to get traded to the Portland Trail Blazers or Toronto Raptors. He’d rather play for one of the California teams.
“It’s kind of a marriage that’s beyond repair at this point, Dumas said on 95.7 The Game this week. “Like anyone who’s gonna get traded, especially a young quote-on-quote All-Star like Ben, he doesn’t want to go to a bad situation. He’s reading the tea leaves like everyone else. He sees Toronto. He sees Portland. … He’s not really trying to go to any of those situations. He’s open to the California teams is what I’ve been told.”
The reality is the Golden State Warriors could probably give the Sixers the best offer for Simmons, plus they play in different conferences. A trade with Portland or Toronto isn’t very likely to begin with.
Ben Simmons’ relationship reportedly “beyond repair” is ignoring Joel Embiid’s phone calls. Doesn’t want to get traded to Raptors or Blazers. Open to getting traded to one of the California teams according to @JDumasReports on @957thegame pic.twitter.com/ouFTf7eBnw

Ben Simmons would be a fun fit in the Golden State Warriors’ system. He wouldn’t have to produce on the scoring end. He’d instead be tasked with distributing the ball to the Warriors’ seemingly endless shooters.
In Portland or Toronto, Simmons would have a much bigger responsibility to produce on the offensive end. We know by now Simmons isn’t capable of being an every-night elite scorer.
It looks like if Simmons gets traded, he’s heading to California. We should find out more in coming weeks.
