The Detroit Pistons are one of several NBA teams still searching for their next head coach. The franchise is reportedly eyeing a surprising option from the collegiate ranks.

According to ESPN's Adrian Wojnarowski, a current collegiate head coach has already interviewed for the Pistons job - Michigan Wolverines head coach John Beilein.

Beilein has no NBA coaching experience, but he's done a tremendous job since taking over the Michigan Wolverines in 2007.

His work has paid off.

In 11 seasons as the team's head coach, Beilein has brought the Wolverines to the NCAA tournament eight times and the national title game twice - though both ended in defeat. Just last year, Michigan was the nation's runner-up after a tough national title loss to a stacked Villanova program.

The Michigan Man was named as CBSSports.com's Coach of the Year after a tremendous 33-8 campaign, including a Big Ten Conference Tournament win.

Beilein is one of the best coaches in the country, at any level, and would be a tremendous hire for the Pistons organization.
