Report: Knicks, Celtics Discussed Marcus Smart Trade

Boston and New York discussed the following trade.

The Celtics and the Knicks discussed a possible trade involving one of Boston's young assets.

Needing cap space to sign Gordon Hayward, Boston needs to move a couple of its players in order to get the room for the All-Star's four-year, $128 million contract.

So Danny Ainge is reportedly shopping Avery Bradley, Jae Crowder and Marcus Smart.

The Knicks were reportedly one of the teams that discussed a possible Smart trade.

From ESPN:

The Knicks, among other teams, were also contacted by the Boston Celtics about a potential Marcus Smart trade earlier this week, sources said. The Knicks' interest in Smart is unclear at this point, but you can assume the Celtics would want someone like Willy Hernangomez and/or a pick back in a trade. If so, that would be a steep price for a rebuilding team such as the Knicks to pay.

Would you do that, Knicks fans?
