Report: LeBron Will "Never" Play For The Clippers

A report from an ESPN writer says James will never play for this team.

LeBron James going to Los Angeles next summer is a popular prediction among NBA fans and insiders.

One ESPN reporter says you can cross one of L.A.'s teams off James' possible destination list, though.

ESPN's Mike Wise says James will "never" play for the Clippers, despite some people thinking he'd go there to team up with Carmelo Anthony or Dwyane Wade or Chris Paul (or all of them).

"I got from a very good authority—a very good authority—that LeBron James will never be a Clipper," Wise told ESPN Radio's Freddie and Fitz. "I can't tell you who, but I'm going to tell you it's somebody that knows, and LeBron James will never be a Clipper. I don't know if that's because he remembers what the Clippers used to be, or he just doesn’t want to put his lot in there, or he thinks [owner] Steve Ballmer is just too animated on the sideline."

The Vertical's Adrian Wojnarowski had reported that people in NBA circles think James is headed West after the 2017-18 season.

"Not only is there no guarantee he's coming back, I'm not sure there’s an expectation he's re-signing there," Wojnarowski said on his podcast. "I think they feel, I think within Cleveland and around the league, they feel that he's very much in play to leave again and likely head out West to one of the two L.A. teams. The Lakers could very well be a target."

NBA rumors are the best, aren't they?
