Frank Mason III may have fallen to the second round of the NBA Draft, but he continues to impress early in his Sacramento Kings career.
The former Kansas star was drafted in the second round, 34th overall by the Kings, after being named college player of the year last season.
On Monday, the Kings hosted the San Antonio Spurs in their preseason opener, and Mason showed out once again.
He led the way for the Kings with 17 points and six rebounds in just over 22 minutes, hitting 5-of-10 shots from the floor and 2-of-4 threes.
He wasn’t the only Kings rookie to impress. Kentucky product De’Aaron Fox, the team’s No. 5 overall pick, scored 16 points on 7-of-8 shooting.
Skal Labissiere, a 2016 draft pick out of Kentucky, impressed with 15 points on 7-of-10 shooting from the floor.
