The 2018 NBA Draft is coming up on Thursday. The Sacramento Kings pick near the top once again.

The Kings have the No. 2 overall pick this year. They've made a home in the lottery the last 12 years or so.

Deandre Ayton is widely assumed to be the No. 1 overall pick, but beyond that, there's been intrigue regarding who Sacramento would take at No. 2.

Do they go with international sensation Luka Doncic? How about skilled but injured Michael Porter Jr.? Or maybe they roll with the "safest" pick, Duke's Marvin Bagley III?

That last option seems to be the most likely one, according to a new report from the Dallas News' Eddie Sefko.

Sefko calls it a "near-lock" that Bagley is the choice for Sacramento at No. 2.

Bagley's offensive game might be the best in the draft. He's almost guaranteed to find a way to score from the time he enters the league.

His upside, particularly on defense, isn't as high as some other options, but he should be a successful pro.

If Bagley is the Kings' choice, he'll be tasked with trying to help the franchise reach the playoffs for the first time since 2006.
