Growing up in California, DeMar DeRozan was a huge Kobe Bryant fan. Before tonight’s game in Los Angeles, DeRozan paid his respects to the recently deceased superstar.
DeRozan wore a purple Kobe throwback featuring the No. 8 that the legendary Laker wore early in his career. He wore it over a yellow hoodie and with yellow pants to match.
We’ve seen several players pay tribute to Kobe by wearing his jersey or other apparel, but DeRozan went the extra mile.
Check it out.

Not only did DeRozan idolize Kobe growing up, but he also modeled his game after him once he entered the NBA. There might not be a better player in the game today in terms of mid-range shooting and scoring.
DeRozan and the Spurs are in town to play the Clippers tonight at Staples Center. You can catch that game on NBA TV.
