The San Antonio Spurs have a history of bats invading games at the AT&T Center.
Spurs great Manu Ginobili swatted one out of the air, in the most famous Spurs bat moment, a few years ago.
Just the other day, a winged guest delayed the Spurs-Nets game for 10 minutes, chasing Brooklyn star D’Angelo Russell into the tunnel until it was dealt with.
Tonight, the bats returned.
The Spurs are hosting the New Orleans Pelicans, and just minutes into the game, a bat swooped down.
The latest Spurs bat delay involved the team’s mascot, in a batman costume, chasing it around with a net.

It is pretty fascinating to see how different players react. LaMarcus Aldridge’s attempt with the ball, other guys ducking away and avoiding it.
The fact that the mascot has been tasked with bat duty is also pretty hilarious.
Obviously, the Spurs would probably rather not have bats coming into the arena all the time, but it does make for some good viral entertainment. Twice in a week may be a bit much though.
The Spurs look great on the court tonight as well, against the Anthony Davis-less Pels. Aldridge has 25, pacing the team, which leads 79-62.
