The Spurs' best player won't be on the court tonight.

The Spurs announced Kawhi Leonard will not play tonight against the Golden State Warriors. Leonard re-injured his ankle in Game 1 of the Western Conference playoffs and missed Game 2 as a result of that injury.

After taking a few days off, some assumed Leonard would be able to go tonight. However, it looks like the Spurs are taking a longterm view of his injury, and holding him out for at least one more game.

After Kawhi was injured in Game 1, the Spurs gave up a 25-point lead en route to a loss. Golden State clobbered the Spurs in Game 2 with a 136-100 win on the Warriors' home court.

The series shifts to San Antonio for tonight's game, where the Spurs hope to recreate some of their Game 6 magic from the series against the Houston Rockets. San Antonio was without Kawhi Leonard in that game, but was able to dominate from the opening whistle.
