The Lakers Are Considering Trading D'Angelo Russell For A Lottery Pick

Los Angeles' young guard might be moved in a trade.

The Los Angeles Lakers are reportedly trying to get another lottery pick in this year's NBA Draft. L.A. currently has the No. 2 overall pick and the No. 28 pick.

In attempts to get that other lottery pick, Magic Johnson's franchise is reportedly "dangling" a former top-three pick.

D'Angelo Russell might be on the move.

ESPN insider Chad Ford says that the Lakers are considering trading Russell, 21, for a top-12 pick.

Russell, a former Ohio State star, was the No. 2 overall pick in the 2015 NBA Draft. He's played pretty well in L.A. despite these Lakers' teams being full of unproven young players. Russell averaged 15.6 points, 4.8 assists and 3.5 rebounds per game in 2016-17.

The Lakers seem likely to take Lonzo Ball at No. 2, though, and they might not think he and Russell can play in the backcourt together.
