The 2020-21 season didn’t end the way the Utah Jazz hoped it would, but it was still a special year for Quin Snyder’s squad. However, there might be some concerns about Donovan Mitchell and whether he’s content with the franchise’s current situation.
During the latest episode of “The Hoop Collective Podcast,” ESPN insider Brian Windhorst said “I think Dwyane Wade is seriously concerned about Donovan Mitchell’s desire to stay [in Utah] long-term.”
Utah earned the No. 1 seed in the Western Conference this season, but it ultimately blew a 2-0 series lead against Los Angeles in the second round of the playoffs. Eventually, Mitchell will want to hoist the Larry O’Brien Trophy.
While it’s possible that Windhorst’s report about Mitchell is true, there aren’t many fans buying it at this moment.
“We need to stop the media from pressuring small market stars to go create more super teams smh,” one fan tweeted. “We’ll slander them for joining up making the league ‘unfair’ but say that people like Giannis and Beal don’t want to win.”

The Jazz have Mitchell under contract through the 2024-25 season. As long as they continue to be a playoff contender, they shouldn’t really have to worry about him wanting out.
If they really want to ensure that Mitchell stays in Utah for the long haul, the Jazz might want to consider making a major move or two this offseason.
Do you think Donovan Mitchell will want out of Utah in the near future?
