On Friday night the New Orleans Pelicans hosted the Minnesota Timberwolves in a Western Conference tilt.
After Anthony Davis was the subject of trade rumors, the Pelicans decided to hold onto their star rather than trade him within the Western Conference to the Los Angeles Lakers.
Although Rob Pelinka, Magic Johnson and company brought forth the best offer for Davis before the trade deadline, the Pelicans decided as a franchise to move forward with Davis playing a pivotal role over the final third of the season.
The Lakers offered a significant portion of their roster for Davis, but were rebuffed by Pelicans management.
ESPN analyst Stephen A. Smith went as far as to say Pelicans general manager Dell Demps would have been fired if the team traded Davis before the trade deadline.
In front of his home crowd on Friday night, Davis received a harsh intro. New Orleans fans decided to boo the NBA star rather than celebrate his time with the team.

While Anthony Davis should be celebrated as the No. 1 pick in his draft and the former Kentucky star, the home crowd certainly sees a different player than walked in their front doors in 2012.
Davis has one year left on his deal with the Pelicans, then he can choose to sign with any other NBA franchise.
