Game 1 of the NBA Finals between the Golden State Warriors and the Cleveland Warriors is in the books, and boy, was it a wild one.
In the final seconds of the game J.R. Smith grabbed an offensive rebound, but didn't seem to know the game was tied at the time, and ran the clock out.
Here's what he said after the game.
"I was trying to get enough to bring it out to get a shot off. I knew we were tied, I thought we were going to call timeout. If I thought we were ahead, I'd have held onto the ball and let them foul me," he told reporters.
Smith appears to have been caught in a lie, though.
His head coach, Ty Lue, told reporters after the game that Smith told him he thought the Cavs were winning.
The Warriors followed that up with their press conference, and Draymond Green gave the media gold once again when he reacted to Smith's apparent lie.
Green wasn't here for J.R. Smith's lies.
Game 2 of the Finals tips off on Sunday night at 8:00 p.m. ET on ABC.
