New Orleans Pelicans rookie Zion Williamson hasn't even stepped on the court yet but he's already breaking NBA records. The latest NBA merchandise figures are out, and it should come as no surprise that the former Duke star is topping the list.

According to Fanatics via The New York Post, in the first few days after he was drafted No. 1 overall by the Pelicans, Zion sold more $110 Nike jerseys and $32 T-shirts than all the first-round picks in the 2018 NBA Draft combined.

Zion has been doing well, but his former Duke teammate, RJ Barrett, has been doing pretty well, too. Though he trails Zion, his numbers are still double that of former record-holder Lonzo Ball.

It should probably come as little surprise how popular Zion has become in the city of New Orleans alone given that Saints quarterback Drew Brees has already passed the torch to him.

The Pelicans sold thousands of season tickets within minutes of receiving winning the NBA Draft Lottery.

It's doubtful that too many Pelicans fans gave up those tickets even after the team traded All-Star Anthony Davis to the Los Angeles Lakers.

Zion is unquestionably the most hyped player to enter the NBA since LeBron James at this point. It will be tough for him to meet those expectations on the court, but he definitely has the talent to do it.
