Marcus Smith was an All-American at Louisville and was the No. 26 overall pick in the 2014 NFL Draft. Since then, things haven't been going too well.

The 26-year-old former college football star spent three seasons with the Eagles and the 2017 season with Seattle.

The Seahawks released the former first-round pick earlier this preseason.

NFL Network insider Ian Rapoport is now reporting that Smith could be considering retirement.

"When the Seahawks released former Eagles first-round pick Marcus Smith, they said it was for personal reasons. My understanding is Smith is leaning towards retirement after just four seasons. He was not fully committed to playing in 2018," he reports.

Smith has 38 career tackles and 6.5 career sacks. He was released by Seattle on Aug. 17.

Stay tuned.
