The Giants are reportedly making a major positional change ahead of today's game against the Houston Texans. It's a move that many Giants fans have long been calling for.

Ereck Flowers, the No. 9 overall pick in the 2015 NFL Draft, is being benched. New York, which moved Flowers to right tackle this offseason, is sending him to the bench.

Giants head coach Pat Shurmur confirmed this morning that he's starting Chad Wheeler.

"Giants coach Pat Shurmur confirms to @KimJonesSports that he’s benching Ereck Flowers and starting RT Chad Wheeler: “It’s about giving Chad a chance. See what we get.” Says it’s more about that than taking Flowers off the field."

The Giants are off to a disastrous start this season.

New York is 0-2 heading into today's game against Houston. Kickoff is set for 1 p.m. E.T.
