With the college football bowl season finally upon us, let's take a look back at what one of the premier college football analysts predicted before the season kicked off. We're here to take a look at College GameDay analyst Kirk Herbstreit's preseason College Football Playoff foursome.

Before the season kicked off, Herbie predicted these four teams would make the playoff: Alabama, Clemson, Penn State and Washington.

Not too bad from the GameDay analyst as both Alabama and Clemson made it back to the playoff. Both Penn State and Washington were popular picks to win their respective conference and earn a berth into the playoff.

It didn't work out, however, as both teams suffered unfortunate losses along the way. The Huskies won their conference, but earlier losses in the season derailed their playoff hopes.

Alabama takes on Oklahoma while Clemson meets up against Notre Dame in the College Football Playoff semifinal rounds on December 29.
