A significant college basketball upset is in the works. No. 17 Villanova entered its contest against Penn with an 8-2 record, though after one half of play it looks like the Wildcats are in for a dogfight.
After 20 minutes, Penn lead the contest by four points after entering the game as a 7.5-point underdog. The Quakers, who also sit at 8-2 on the year, are hoping to hold off the Wildcats in the second half to pull off the significant upset.
Despite a hot-shooting streak thus far, Villanova has struggled on the boards. The Quakers have a 27-13 advantage in rebounds through the first 27 minutes of the game.
Penn leads 44-40 with just over 12 minutes left in the second half.
Can the Quakers hold on a defeat Jay Wright’s squad? Or will Villanova finally find its footing on the boards and assert its dominance over the rest of the game?
