The Wisconsin Badgers entered this afternoon's contest against Northwestern without starting quarterback Alex Hornibrook. Sidelined by a concussion, Hornibrook had to cheer on from the bench as sophomore Jack Coan got the start.
Although Coan has played well, the Badgers are struggling as a whole. As the teams head into the fourth quarter, Northwestern holds a 24-10 lead thanks to an impressive performance from quarterback Clayton Thorson.
The Wildcats hit a 26-yard field goal to take the two-touchdown lead with just under three minutes left in the third quarter.
Wisconsin went into the game as the No. 20 program in the nation, just a few spots behind fellow Big Ten members No. 17 Penn State and No. 18 Iowa.
With a win, Northwestern would hold a significant advantage in the Big Ten West - if Penn State takes care of Iowa that is.
Can the Wildcats hold on and force the upset? Or will the Badgers battle back?
