A Woman Lost $1 Million On A Ridiculous Holding Call During A CFL Game

This is a tough way to lose $1 million.

A woman named Karen Kuldys, from Winnipeg, lost $1 million in heartbreaking fashion on Thursday night.

Kuldys was the lucky fan chosen for the Safeway/Sobeys $1,000,000 Touchdown To Win contest - which pays out $1 million if two kickoffs are returned for touchdowns in a CFL game.

In the below clip, Toronto Argonauts speedster Martese Jackson runs back a kickoff for a touchdown - the second of the night after Ryan Lankford of the Bombers had done it earlier. But one of the referees called a holding penalty on one of his teammates. It's a questionable call at best - it definitely looks like the player flopped.

Check it out:

Kuldys, therefore, didn't win the $1 million she was so close to receiving.

It's a tough break, and one she'll unfortunately remember the rest of her life.
