Allie LaForce has become one of the most-respected reporters in TV over the past couple of years, becoming a prominent face for college football, the NBA and the NCAA Tournament. The star reporter is reportedly going in a new direction with her career, though.
The Athletic's Richard Deitsch is reporting that LaForce was unable to agree to terms on a new contract with CBS. She's leaving the network.
Deitsch adds that Jamie Erdahl will be the network's new SEC on CBS reporter.
"CBS Sports plans to name Jamie Erdhal as its new SEC on CBS reporter today. Told CBS and Allie LaForce could not come to a new deal and LaForce is leaving CBS Sports. LaForce had been with CBS Sports since October 2012," Deitsch reports.
This is pretty significant media news. LaForce is a rising star in the sports TV world.
CBS is losing a very talented reporter and LaForce is leaving behind a very prominent gig.
LaForce, an Ohio native, has been with CBS and Turner Sports since 2014. It'll be interesting to see where she ends up next.
