While last weekend of college football featured a plethora of intense conference championships, another intriguing battle is on display today. Although both teams have experienced vastly different seasons, the Navy Midshipmen and the Army Black Knights will face each other in their 119th meeting.
Navy owns a 3-9 record this year, but its best performance of the year might just occur this afternoon. As for Army, its 9-2 record is impressive, especially considering that one of the losses came against the Oklahoma Sooners.
Both programs run similar triple-option offenses, which minimize pass attempts and value running the football.
The edge should go to the Black Knights in this year’s matchup, as they are quite stout on defense. Well, ESPN’s FPI gives Army a 77.9 percent chance of winning the game.
It should be an excellent way for both teams to finish their seasons, as the Black Knights will eventually face the Houston Cougars in the Armed Forces Bowl.
Navy and Army are set to kick off at 3:00 p.m. ET from Lincoln Financial Field.
The game will be on CBS.
